Claudio Zettel works at the German Aerospace Centre (DLR), Project Management Agency (DLR-Projektträger), where he contributes his expertise in regional and labour research. He studied geography at the Universities of Bonn and Brasília. He has conducted research and taught on the informal sector, as well as on labour and innovation research, at the Universities of Bonn (Germany), Lima (Peru), Brasília (Brazil) and Talca (Chile). On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), he established the European network on labour innovations, ‘WORKINNET’. He headed the Federal Ministry of Education and Research’s funding programme on labour research and, together with the IQIB research institute, led the ‘FutureWork’ foresight project on labour. He is currently responsible, on behalf of the federal and state governments, for research projects in the field of cohesion policy concerning the future of the European Structural Funds (ERDF) and provides expert support for the ‘Socially Responsible Artificial Intelligence’ programme on behalf of the Baden-Württemberg Foundation.
