Successful Irish participants on the INSPIRE pilot course for social entrepreneurs
Dublin project meeting
Lisbon project meeting

We’re delighted to have been a partner in the Erasmus+ INSPIRE programme (2021 – 2023), exploring the world of social enterprise and supporting younger people in their journeys towards social entrepreneurship with our partners from France, Italy, Portugal and Turkey.

Here are some highlights from the project:

Ireland has an increasingly sophisticated ecosystem to support the growth of social entrepreneurship. You can download our Country Report on Ireland here.

Together with our partners in the INSPIRE project, we collated 19 inspiring case studies of social entrepreneurship from nine countries as a downloadable e-book.

We built an online community of more than 150 social entrepreneurs on our Fresh Thinking Labs platform, including free resources, a training course for prospective social entrepreneurs and the opportunity to connect with others. Apply here to join.

You can watch four webinars:

1. Our Roundtable where four social entrepreneurs from different countries shared their aspirations, experiences and lessons learned.

2. At our Community Launch webinar we shared insights on successful social entrepreneurship from across Europe and started some great conversations..

3. Being a Social Entrepreneur: Success Stories from the Frontline, shared a wealth of experience and practical lessons of real value from two experienced social entrepreneurs: DANIEL IANNACI, responsible for management control, impact assessment and social reporting at Arcobaleno Cooperativa Social in Torino, and ERCAN TUTAL, the highly entrepreneurial founder of Turkish social enterprise Alternatif Yaşam Derneği, now in its 25th year.

4. How to Measure – and Enhance – Social Impact, focused on Social Impact, and was led by INSPIRE partner Davide Calendra (University of Turin Business School). Davide offered a practical understanding of social impact, how to measure it and how to improve it.
