Strengthening Workplace Innovation Across Borders

In 2024, EUWIN, TNO, Katapult, Baandomein, de Sprong Human Capital Innovatie, and Saxion University joined forces to boost workplace innovation activities together with SMEs in the Netherlands and Belgium. This collaboration sparked the creation of an active network of Werkvernieuwers, several new projects, and a series of inspiring events focused on shaping the future of work.

One highlight was the Sociotechnical Round Table Twente held in February 2025.  Partners from EUWIN, the Ulbo de Sitter Institute, and the SocioTechnical Roundtable gathered with participants from the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany to explore new perspectives on workplace innovation.

A Dynamic and Collaborative Program

Together, we brought our projects, insights, and ambitions together in a vibrant cross-border program, including:

  • Company visitsto inspiring partners such as Ferlin Plastics Automation, EuroMouldings, and TINT Apeldoorn
  • A collaborative community book session
  • Masterclasses on sociotechnical design
  • In-depth exchangeson European projects and future cooperation opportunities

A Thriving Innovation Ecosystem in the East of the Netherlands

It is truly energising to witness the strong collaboration between social and technical innovation in the eastern Netherlands. This cross-border exchange demonstrates what becomes possible when expertise, practice, and research come together in an open, interactive environment.

And we’re only getting started: a new book, multiple European projects, and several PhD and postdoc trajectories are already in development.
